Nature Wanderings
Photography and Art Inspired by Wandering in Nature
Wandering in nature is good for the soul!
It allows us to slow down and connect to the earth and each other. As we wander about, it is easy to see the big things - trees, rocks, and large animals. However, we also need to slow down and notice the little things - a buzzing bee, flowers hidden on the forest floor, and the delicate swirl of a fern.
After a long career working with healthcare and human services, I made the leap to work in nature education and interpretation – and what a journey it has been! As a lifelong Nature Wanderer, I am thrilled to be able to share my enthusiasm with people of all ages.
My blogs will focus on local nature, my travels, and fun ideas to get children excited about the natural world and their place in it. All photos and artwork are my original work - I hope you enjoy them!
Nature Wanderings is a place to get inspired to get outside, wherever you are, and seek a connection to nature!
Some of my earliest memories are of wandering in the forests around my home. Spending time alone in nature allowed me to fine-tune my observational skills - looking for tracks, listening to insects and birds, and being inspired by various patterns, colors, and textures of nature.

The beauty of nature is all around us, from the majestic mountains to the spent blooms hiding wintering insects. When we slow down, we see the wonders of nature wherever we are—in our backyards, national parks, big cities, or small towns.
